#383 - The Wisdom of Otto

WHAT IS THIS, WHAT’S HAPPENING

State of the Union

December 1st, 2009

#1: For the time being, the comic is on indefinite hiatus. I have no current intentions of making more, but I’m not going to delete the site or anything like that. I might get bored again sometime in the future.

#2: For those who care, I’ve graduated from grad school and I have an MFA in Cinema-Television. I’m an unemployed sound designer in Los Angeles. Hire me.

#3: Thank you to everyone who is reading this right now. You are more patient and loving than a guy like me deserves.

Yet another “I’m still alive!” post

November 17th, 2007

The comic isn’t dead, will update again, very very busy, etc.

Here’s something I’ve learned about being a sound editor on a project with a very, very tight schedule: it is a lot of work. I spent eight hours in the sound edit lab yesterday and there’s still much much more to do!

So hopefully you can understand why there is no comic yet. Things will get a bit better in December, so hold on to your hats.

Captain Dan

November 4th, 2007

I just saw that there’s an ad for Captain Dan and the Scurvy Crew on my Project Wonderful ad section. I wanted to take this opportunity to lend the ad my full support and endorsement, whatever that’s worth. It’s funny, catchy and the music video for “Blackbeard’s Treasure” is fantastic. Their latest album, “Rimes of the Hip-Hop Mariner,” is also really good!

Check out Captain Dan’s MySpace page for samples!

Hello, Wikipedians!

October 31st, 2007

If you’ve found this site through Wikipedia (I guess the drama around the impending deletion of many webcomics’ entries is making people curious) I just want you to know that the No 4th Wall to Break Wikipedia page is INCORRECT. I am no longer on indefinite hiatus! Jamie McGarry is no longer a guest artist! It’s just me and a very slow, very irregular update schedule that defies both rhyme and reason.

I would update the page with this BREAKING NEWS but I swore an oath when I discovered the Wikipedia entry that I would never edit it myself. Someone else has to do it.

No 4th Wall isn’t dead!

October 16th, 2007

Just very, very slow! It’s busy busy time right now, so the comic will be a while in coming. Just check back every week or so, sooner or later something new will be up. Thanks for your patience!

Do you live near Grand Rapids, Michigan? Do you want to see a short film I directed?

October 2nd, 2007

Then do I have good news for you!

My short film, “Do Zombies Dream of Undead Sheep,” will be showing at the Thriller! Chiller! Film Festival, in Grand Rapids, MI, October 25-27!

Because USC owns the copyright to the film, I can’t upload it to the internet - so this is a rare chance for you guys to see the work that I’ve been doing since coming to USC. It’s a great little film (he says with all modesty) and tickets are pretty cheap if you live in the area. The line-up looks pretty cool, too, so it could be a lot of fun if you dig horror films and the like.

Catch as catch can

September 28th, 2007

For the next month or so, I will not be adhering to any kind of update schedule. I’m in the middle of a production, so my weekends (when I usually do the comic) are completely booked for a while. I’ll update when I can, but until this production is over things will be sparse.

I will return, though! No “hiatus” nonsense this time.

Delay!

September 24th, 2007

The comic will be slightly delayed! My apologies.

Genrezvous Point!

September 21st, 2007

I did a guest comic for my good friend Brian over at Genrezvous Point today! Go check it out, it’s a great comic that updates way more often than I do.

Update Schedule

September 6th, 2007

I’ve been in classes for two weeks now and I can safely say that I cannot update three times a week.

What I can say is that I can have a comic up every Sunday! So until further notice, No 4th Wall to Break updates on Sundays.
